Earlier this year, we whooped and celebrated when Nylah’s Naturals founder Kam Davis secured a £50,000 investment in her business after appearing on the Dragon’s Den TV progamme. After pitching her brand and development plan, she impressed Dragon, Sarah Davies enough to have her offer her a £50,000 investment. With that new capital, Kam has continued to invest in the Nylah’s Naturals R&D (research and development) process, improving the formulas and expanding her line of products to cater to all types of curls.
Since launching her brand in 2013, Kam Davis has dedicated several years to rigorous research, working closely with a cosmetic scientist, trichologist, and traditional herbalist to refine the perfect non-damaging formula using the most nourishing ingredients.
Her “why” for creating her brand is one that resonates deeply with us. In an interview with Davis earlier this year, she told us: “I wanted my daughter to know, from her earliest memory, that she, with her lovely brown skin, soft kinky hair and pronounced African features, was also, the very definition of beautiful.”
