In a sure sign of growth and development, Nylah’s Naturals, the 100% vegan, UK-based haircare brand for afro-textured and curly hair will now be stocked in SuperDrug stores in the UK.
Earlier this year, we whooped and celebrated when Nylah’s Naturals founder Kam Davis secured a £50,000 investment in her business after appearing on the Dragon’s Den TV progamme. After pitching her brand and development plan, she impressed Dragon, Sarah Davies enough to have her offer her a £50,000 investment. With that new capital, Kam has continued to invest in the Nylah’s Naturals R&D (research and development) process, improving the formulas and expanding her line of products to cater to all types of curls.
Since launching her brand in 2013, Kam Davis has dedicated several years to rigorous research, working closely with a cosmetic scientist, trichologist, and traditional herbalist to refine the perfect non-damaging formula using the most nourishing ingredients.
Her “why” for creating her brand is one that resonates deeply with us. In an interview with Davis earlier this year, she told us: “I wanted my daughter to know, from her earliest memory, that she, with her lovely brown skin, soft kinky hair and pronounced African features, was also, the very definition of beautiful.”
Staying true to her promise to give customers the very best nature has to offer, Davis continues to only use 100% natural, sustainably sourced ingredients. Using cold-pressed oils over refined oils in haircare means that Nylah’s Naturals products preserve the natural fatty acids, nutrients, vitamins A, B, C and E and minerals for silkier, healthier hair The result is a science-backed, safe, hypoallergenic product that celebrates the natural, healthy beauty of afro-textured hair.
The announcement that the brand will be expanding to SuperDrug stores across the UK is excellent news. The high street retailer recently reported a 40% increase in sales for curl-enhancing products and Nylah’s Naturals will be the latest addition to their popular, growing line.
Speaking about her brand’s growth, Kam Davis, said: “We’re so excited to announce that you will soon see our products on the shelves at SuperDrug stores, to make our line even more accessible for our customers.”
“From day one, we pledged to keep challenging the status quo in the haircare market, to make the haircare product selection on shelves more representative and diverse, catering to all demographics and hair types. Our brand brings premium quality, 100% vegan and natural haircare to those of us with curly and afro-textured hair.”
