When it comes to recreating the 60s makeup look, it’s all about the eyes and these are the products you need to help you get the look.
Once again, we have been poring over this year’s London Fashion Week content to spot some makeup trends to follow. The assignment? Identify LFW makeup ideas that can easily be translated to wearable, everyday looks simple enough for anyone to recreate. And we found one.
At his LFW AW21 fashion show, David Koma leaned heavily on 60s influenced makeup. The 60s was an era that was all about the eyes; extreme eyeliner and eyeshadow in heavy tones of blues, greys and whites all proved to be extremely popular.
This got us thinking of the glamorous looks of icons of the era, such as Diana Ross, Diahann Carroll and Aretha Franklin. I mean, have you ever seen an image of a women wearing sixties makeup who didn’t look absolutely gorgeous? We’ll wait.
The key to this look is to emphasise the eyes, while keeping everything else in neutral, natural tones.
Our partners at Illamasqua and Eyeko have shared with us items that you can use to recreate your own signature 60s makeup look.
