US actress embraces her freedom with humorous post to fans post break up.

Halle Berry had a frank message to let people know how she felt about 2017 and she had no qualms about using her middle finger to send it.

The Oscar-winning actress took to her Instagram account on New Year’s Eve to write a note about being a good person but noted how important it is to stand up for yourself.

In the post, she wrote: “Dear 2017, you can be a good person with a kind spirit and still tell people to go F**K themselves when needed.

“P/S…thank you middle finger for always standing up for me!”

The 51-year old beauty hasn’t been lucky in love over the last couple of years, and it’s thought she broke up with her partner just two weeks ago and the post could be a not so cryptic message aimed in his direction.

She was in the headlines in the summer with a predicament that many of ladies can relate to, when she walked down a red carpet with what turned out to be a ‘food baby’ rather than a baby bump. She was all of us when she retorted, again on Instagram, “Can a girl have some steak and fries??”

We look forward to her being in the headlines for a role befitting her talents. She has previously spoken out to The Guardian about the lack of good roles for women of colour, even Oscar winners like herself.

Halle has been announced as one of the presenters in next month’s Golden Globe Awards.
