Photographers from around the world are already sending in their entries to what is one of the most hotly contested photographic competitions in the world.

The 2017 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year competition features a grand prize of a 10-day trip for two to the Galapagos Islands, along with monetary prizes for each of the three categories of Nature, Cities and People.
