Back for its 6th year, Africa Fashion Week, London (AFWL) 2016 was bigger, badder and more stylish than ever.

Since 2011, more than 300 designers and almost 45,000 visitors have come together for the yearly event, Europe’s largest catwalk showcasing African and African-inspired design. Created by fashion expert and entrepreneur, Ronke Ademiluyi, AFWL  is all about celebrating Africa’s rich cultural influences and heritage through design.

A big feature of the event, which took place at the Olympia in London between 9-10 September 2016, was the exhibitors stalls and market place, giving  visitors the opportunity to browse and buy all manner of African-inspired apparel.

Over the coming weeks and months, Melan Mag will be showcasing some of the labels, giving a platform to the designers, whose sheer talent and creativity must be seen.
