Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL), Europe’s biggest fashion event promoting and nurturing African and African-inspired design talent, sweeps into town on Saturday 9 October.

This year however, the usually three-day event will be squeezed into a packed schedule of activities at the regular grand venue of Freemason’s Hall in central London. Visitors to the event can expect the usual shopping experiences, panel talks, hair presentations, workshops and the highlight of the day, a VIP Catwalk Finale.

AFWL2019 Designer Spotlight: South Africa’s Vanessa Gounden

The VIP Catwalk Finale, which will open from 7pm, will feature the latest collections from some of the best-loved African designers, including Soboye and Mary Martin London; an amazing adire (tie-dye) collaboration between Ile Moremi and Sista by Eyoro from Nigeria and other specially selected designers from South Africa and Ghana.

With only 250 seats available for the exclusive catwalk showcase, we anticipate tickets are going to be snapped up in no time.

With the 2020 how being forced to cancel last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 day-ticket holders will get entry tickets to Saturday’s event. Also, in consideration of the ongoing threat of the virus, this year’s event will adhere to safety protocols will be strictly observed and face-coverings encouraged.
