How to coordinate your ‘drobe to match this year’s 2021 PANTONE colours

Every year, PANTONE announces its colour of the year which ends up influencing fashion choices everywhere, but this year, we get not one, but two shades to guide our 2021 wardrobe.

The shades this year are contrasting yet complementing, a neutral grey and a bright yellow, guaranteed to pop on darker skin tones.

The first shade Pantone 17-5104 Ultimate Gray is a neutral natural colour that can be paired with virtually anything. The Gray tone, “quietly assures, encouraging feelings of composure, steadiness and resilience.” Whilst the second shade Pantone 13-0647 Illuminating is the spark of colour we all need, a bright yellow, “sparkling with vivacity.”

The idea behind the new collection is to evoke thoughtfulness with the promise of something sunny and friendly, “A message of happiness supported by fortitude, the combination of PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is aspirational and gives us hope, something we all need after the rollercoaster year we’ve just been through.
