OK, so it might have been the coldest day of the year last week but we know you’ve had your eye on all the spring fashion and beauty releases just like we have. As much as you probably want to check out every single item in your virtual cart on Cult Beauty, your inner conscience and priorities will probably advise against it.
To save you from yourself, we’ve pulled out six easy product swaps you can follow to update your makeup look for SS18.
Cream Blush is your SS best friend
Glossier Cloud Paint has been a beauty editor’s favourite since it’s UK launch last autumn. The best time to wear cream blusher is definitely in spring/ summer because it gives that natural light wash of colour, making your skin look radiant. Instead of using a powder blusher, with your fingers, stipple the shade Haze over the apples of your cheeks or take it up to your cheek bones and temples for a more edgy look.

Replace your black liner with a swoosh of silver
Image Credit: @makeuprevolution on Instagram. So, we don’t mean a gel liner here, instead a cream shimmer liner. Reminiscent of the makeup looks we saw at London Fashion Week last month, NYX Holographic Halo Cream Eyeliner makes the cut as a more affordable way to recreate the looks. Instead of drawing a black wing, go for a futuristic metallic alternative to take your makeup game to another galaxy.

Stick to a new foundation
Affordable foundation is very en vogue at the moment; before The Ordinary drama, the serum foundation was a definite sell-out online and instore. Makeup Revolution has taken the reigns this month, making the headlines for their Fast Base Foundation Stick premium foundation sticks at not-so premium prices. The £5 foundation stick goes a long way so dab a little onto areas that need covering and spritz with a finishing spray for that gorgeous dewy look.

Give them all lash envy
Morphe has just stocked up their Exclusive Premium Lash Kit on Beauty Bay and they’re giving us life. Ditch your mascara and go all out fluttery for spring with these gorgeous synthetic lashes that will give you about 10-15 wears out of each. Not only are they super affordable, they’ll subtly add some drama to your makeup look if you keep everything else light and natural.

Go glossy for luscious lips
If you didn’t already get the memo that gloss is the new matte, now’s the time to make the swap. Although we will always be fond of a matte lip, there’s something super sassy about a glossy lip that we can’t get enough of. Outline your lips with your favourite liner and go over with Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow which will match literally anything.

Spruce up your nail art
Deep burgundies and reds are so AW17. Update your manicure by taking inspiration from the Byblos SS18 look with some funky nail art. Take three matching colours and do a rough stroke of each on each nail over a base coat. The rougher the better, as long as you clean up your cuticles with a little bit of nail polish remover on a cotton bud, it’ll look right on trend.
