The cast for Disney’s live action reboot of Lion King has been revealed and Queen Bey is set to take a leading role alongside Donald Glover.
For months, there have been rumours that Beyoncé may be playing the lead in Disney’s Lion King reboot but no one knew for sure until the singer recently used Facebook to confirm the news!
The singer will be voicing the role of Nala, Simba’s childhood love, blessing us with her beautiful vocals in the film whilst actor and rapper Donald Glover will voice Simba himself.
A stellar line-up of talented actors will be starring in the much-loved classic, including Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, James Earl Jones as Mufasa and Alfre Woodard as Sarabi.
The movie will be directed by Jon Favreau, who also led the 2016 reboot of The Jungle Book, and The Lion King will have a similar photographic computer-generated animal visual.
No doubt the familiar songs, Hakuna Matata, Can you feel the love tonight?, and Circle of life, will make an appearance in the film, and we’re sure the team won’t be able to pass up the opportunity to have Queen Bey record some new songs!
