Edward Enninful, Ghanaian-born British fashion stylist, and the current creative and fashion director of W Magazine has been confirmed as the new editor of British Vogue, taking over from Alexandra Shulman.

Enninful, embarked on a brief modelling career after being discovered on a train in his hometown of London. At the tender age of 17, he started assisting the fashion director of i-D Magazine. By 18 he’d been promoted to the role of fashion director himself, a position he held for 20 years.

Edward was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2016 for services to diversity in the fashion industry.

We couldn’t be more pleased at this appointment. The first man, and person of colour to take the helm at the quintessentially British publication. Congratulations Edward!
