First off, fans of Serena Williams can look forward to an as yet untitled docuseries that will follow her journey in both her professional and personal life. Serena will serve as an executive producer of the docuseries, along with others.

The greatest athlete and tennis player of the Open Era and the most prized Women’s Tennis Association player of all time, Serena has overcome insurmountable odds to win a title in all four grand slam tournaments, 73 singles and 23 doubles championships, and gold-medals at the 2000 (doubles), 2008 (doubles), and 2012 (singles and doubles) Olympics.

Off the court, Serena is putting in the work too. She has become a well-recognised name in the business, entertainment and fashion space, adding S by Serena clothing line and Serena Ventures to her brand.

“We’re already looking at some really feel-good moments, things to produce and we’re also doing a docuseries on yours truly..”

Serena is also deeply committed to philanthropic causes, supporting organisations such as the Yetunde Price Resource Center, launching in 2018 in Compton, CA, honouring the life and memory of her oldest sister, by ensuring those affected by trauma have the necessary resources to persevere. Her greatness on and off the court solidifies her as one of the most iconic names and faces in the world.

In a recent chat with Hollywood actor Michael B Jordan on Vanity Fair’s Cocktail Hour, Live!, Serena shared her excitement about her new project. She said: “I’m super excited, this is the first time I’ve ever really talked about it… We’re working to create some scripted and non-scripted stories that really touch the heart to the screen.

“We’re already looking at some really feel-good moments, things to produce and we’re also doing a docuseries on yours truly but just, you know kind of following it around but through my eyes and through my lens and so I’m actually joining the EP credits on that as well…  I feel like it’s gonna be really, really fun and I hope to bring special stories to peoples’ homes.”

Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios, added: “Serena has transformed her sport and become one of the most inspiring athletes, entrepreneurs and women of her generation, admired not only for her unmatched prowess on the court but for her dedication to advocacy as well. We’re incredibly excited to share her journey in this new series, and to work with her to create new original content for our Prime Video customers worldwide.”
