Could our star signs be the key to finding true love? Written in the Stars is a brand-new TV dating experiment show coming to discovery+ this autumn.

BAFTA award-winning broadcaster, DJ and podcaster, Clara Amfo will take on the role of cupid to match 12 singletons to help them find their one true love. But rather than relying on looks, interests or common goals, the criteria for finding a love match will focus on the participants star signs and their astrological birth charts.

Arguably the world is split into those people who won’t make a move without checking their astrology predictions and charts first, and those who think it’s a whole load of codswallop. Can the date of when you were born really influence your life choices to the point of being able to predict who you might fall in love with?

“Is a Taurus match for a Scorpio best, do fire signs make the hottest matches or will they snuff each other out? Are Geminis all chaotic?!”

Written in the Stars is basically a Love Island for Zodiac sign enthusiasts. Twelve intrepid love-seekers, each representing a different sign of the zodiac, will arrive at a classical villa on the sun-soaked Greek Peninsula and will live together for one lunar cycle to find out whether the heavens really do hold the answer to finding true love.

Three astrologers – Francesca Oddie, Michele Knight and Colin Bedell – who specialise in birth chart matching and guiding couples in relationships via astrology, will have the job of pairing up our would-be lovers using just their star charts.

More astro-curious than fan or cynic, Clara makes the perfect impartial foil to the three astrologers, who have staked their reputations on this experiment. As chief matchmaker, Clara will preside over the tasks and challenges set by the astrologers, as well as the dramatic ceremonies set in the mysterious ‘Grove,’ where all the drama of the matching, unmatching, exits and entrances takes place.

Is STEM the hot new romance genre? Author of On Rotation says yes, it is!

Speaking about the show, Clara Amfo said: “If you are curious about astrology, if you’re cynical about it or if you are open to it, this show is for you. Is a Taurus match for a Scorpio best, do fire signs make the hottest matches or will they snuff each other out? Are Geminis all chaotic?!”

“Our incredible astrology experts really do set the sparks flying between the couples in this series. I am excited to see which of our singles find the real thing, I’m rooting for them all!”

Written in the Stars will air on discovery+ in November 2022.
