Gone are the days when getting older meant opting for a ‘safe’, plain wardrobe; instead, why not embrace bold colourful prints?

Despite the proven fact that Black women can wear any bright hue and look fabulous while doing it, as we get older, many of us shy away from bold colourful prints. Wearing bold prints can seem daunting – make us feel uncomfortable even, but the truth is that we can absolutely wear any colour in the rainbow! It’s all about how you style and pair the pieces, so the outfit is altogether cohesive and eye-catching.

Fashion has moved on from the days when it was only generally acceptable to wear ‘safe’ neutral colours. Some of our favourite Instagram fashionistas are leading the way when it comes to showing us how we can embrace bold, bright and ‘in your face’ statement prints.

The Kemist Store @thekemiststore does monochrome so well, but we love this example of a bold print in an Ankara fabric, likewise the bold print worn by @DimmahUmeh.
