Alicia Keys Rocks New Year’s Eve is part of a line-up from the BBC who have promised “an unmissable night of fun, laughter, music and much more as we say goodbye to 2020”.

The 15-time Grammy winning artist will be performing her best loved hits and plenty more in the pre-recorded special filmed on location in Los Angeles.

With various lockdown and tier restrictions still operating during the festive period, the BBC is hosting an extremely entertaining New Year’s Eve night in, one that the whole nation is invited to. The night includes a special New Year’s Eve edition of The Graham Norton Show as well as other entertainment.

Alicia Keys Rocks New Year’s Eve will be broadcast to the nation either side of the Midnight Countdown, hopefully a precursor of a much better 2021.

Despite the restrictions of the past year, 2020 has been extremely busy for Ms Keys. Earlier this year, the mother of two gave a poignant performance at the BET Awards in June, where she honoured the memory of George Floyd. In January she hosted the Grammy Awards and is reportedly set to return as host in February 2021.

“Meet my Goddess energy.”

In September, she dropped her latest album, Alicia. The R&B / soul album includes songs: “Jill Scott (feat. Jill Scott)” and “Authors of Forever.”

In an Instagram post she described the album as being: “all about accepting, loving and getting to know all the sides of you. Meet my Goddess energy.”

“I’m just loving getting to know all of me and then being able to express that in these different musical facets” she said in a recent Essence interview.

We’re looking forward to hearing more about this latest evolution from Ms Keys

Alicia Keys Rocks New Year’s Eve will be broadcast on 31 December, from 11.30pm.
