The official trailer for the 2019 remake of Disney’s original 1994 film, The Lion King, has landed and along with the high-def visuals, stellar cast, which includes Donald Glover and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, fans are thrilled to see ‘The Voice’ James Earl Jones return as Mufasa.

If you’re a long time Disney fan, then you’ll be in high-anticipation mode for the remake, due for release in July 2019.

“Everything the light touches is our kingdom. But a king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun.”

The teaser begins with the well-known narration by the 1994 voice actor of Mufasa, James Earl Jones, bringing high levels of nostalgia, and no doubt wonder on how this remake will fill in the shoes of the multi award-winning original, which won two Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture (Hollywood Foreign Press Association).

It’s great to hear the familiar strains of The Circle Of Life by Elton John as well as the wide-angled cinematic shot of the stampeding wildebeests. But even more appreciated is the rich baritone of Jones as he once again voices Mufasa.

The cast line-up is shown nearing the end of the trailer, presenting well-known faces and voices such as Donald Glover (Simba), Beyoncé (Nala) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar) to name a few, with director Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book) at the helm.
