How do our favourite celebrities always manage to look picture perfect every time?
Many of us try and fail to capture their signature looks but let’s face it, we can’t all have a personal stylist on hand to ensure we don’t look as though we’ve just rolled out of bed. But don’t worry, we got you! Here are four celebrity looks you can master from home without the need for tutorials, makeup artists and a tonne of makeup products.
Taraji P. Henson
Taraji is well known for her glowing skin and love of a bold red lipstick. To get the look, start out with a primer and a crème-to-powder foundation for flawless looking skin, and then focus your attention on contouring your cheekbones and nose in order to define bone structure, or create some angles where they’re needed. Keep the brows natural and instead go for a flick of eyeliner, a few coats of mascara to dramatize the lashes and a bold lipstick, drawing attention to your eyes and your mouth.
Jennifer Hudson
Jennifer has beautiful skin with a variety of tones, so to get a really natural look, start out with a cream-to-powder foundation that will flatter these tones. Keeping the look simple, add a touch of bronzer one shade darker than your skin tone to illuminate your face, use a brown eyeshadow and don’t overdo it on the mascara. Finish up the look with a lip liner one shade darker than your natural lip colour, a sweep of a nude lipstick and then a layer of gloss.
Nicki Minaj
If you’re looking for something a little more colourful and eye-catching, Nicki’s makeup is for you. Start out with a primer before your foundation, giving the impression of flawless skin, and then you can have fun with the liquid eyeliner. The bigger the cat eye flick, the better, and then apply a colourful eyeshadow and a long, thick set of false eyelashes to really make your eyes pop. Finish off with a bright pink lipstick and get ready to flash the pearly whites.
Amber Riley
Subtle makeup with a hint of colour is Amber’s trademark beauty look. Start out with primer and foundation and then build up a slight flush on the cheeks with blusher and bronzer. You want to keep the eye makeup simple, with a neutral eyeshadow, a thin flick of eyeliner and just one or two coats of mascara. Pick out a dark pink or dark red lipstick to finish off the look.
