Africa Utopia, the annual festival celebrating the arts and culture of one of the world’s most dynamic and fast-changing continents took place between 15 – 16 Jul 2017 at the Southbank Centre in London.

It was a packed programme of activities, including performances, comedy and a popular session on Sunday featuring award-winning screenwriter Amma Asante, discussed Black film making.

Africa Utopia 2017 was lit!Fashion, music and art met in a catwalk collaboration with African Fashion Week London, with the ever-popular People’s Catwalk, which showcased the best of African-inspired street style.

Africa Utopia 2017 was lit!There was a wide choice of delicious African food and drink at Pop Up Africa’s African Food Takeover, as well as exhibitors showcasing their Afrocentric fashion and accessories, boutiques and pop-ups at the Marketplace and the chance to explore London’s African and Caribbean history on one of the Black History Walks.
