Afropunk festivals are not known for attracting the shy, retiring types, and this year’s event at Printworks in London, between 22-23 July 2017 didn’t disappoint, with the most luminous and creatively attired people you will ever see.

The one place where subtlety and trying to ‘fit in’ is frowned upon, the louder your getup and makeup, the better, keeping true to the original ideals of the festival to celebrate the lushness and diversity of black culture.

The line-up this year included Corinne Bailey Rae, Nadia Rose, Willow Smith, Jazzie B, JME and loads more.

Our resident photographer, Jodine Williams (ShotByJo) was there to represent Melanmag.com and brings us some of the best looks and images of the weekend.
