It’s no exaggeration to say that new entrepreneurs, particularly of start-ups, potentially wear a hundred hats. I mean, literally! From book keeping, sales, product design, the list could go on.

However, one area that must not be neglected is marketing and promoting your brand and increasingly, tight budgets are seeing more businesses turn to social media for this. As mentioned in a previous article, there are a number of online tools that allow you to draft, schedule and post your social media content. The industry has woken up to this need and there are a number of well-known names out there that can do this task for you, but many still require a lot of time, and are not very intuitive. After a desperate search through Google, we stumbled upon Viraltag, and over the last few months have been testing it out.The social media tool that keeps on giving: Viraltag

As a magazine, we are content-driven, and so making sure we share our content with our readers, through all the channels they use, is no easy task. We can honestly say that Viraltag ticks many of the boxes of what we require. We’re not greedy and so we want to share it with you so that you can benefit too.

So, what is Viraltag? It is an image-focused, social media sharing tool that allows you to share images from a wide variety of places to your social media accounts. Social media networks supported are Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, among others.

Once you register and login to your Viraltag account, you have the option of downloading a browser tab staright toyoru desktop menu, which makes the whole process of posting content, on-the-go, smoother. One of my favourite features is being able to schedule posts straight from the relevant page of my website.

Those familiar with social media will know that it’s not just about scheduling a post and then folding your arms! Some of the channels, for me, Twitter in particular, require repetition and sometimes, repurposing of content, to reach your audience. This is important if you want to have consistency and a real presence on the platform.

Viraltag, easily allows you to recycle posts, using their Evergreen function, where you can create an inventory of previously posted content. Useful, because the system recognises when there is a lull in your content scheduling and fills in the gaps, from your inventory of Evergreen content.

Another intuitive function is the option to clone your post, when you are creating it. This allows you to replicate the one post for a number of different channels, even optimizing the sizing of the images to best suit each channel.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that you can schedule a month’s worth of content in five minutes, but if you have good content, ready to go, by setting some time to plan and schedule your social media, it’s possible to get it done in a short time, which will free up your valuable time.

Other useful features include being able to access your reports to see how your content is performing. You can even link it to your Google Analytics account for more transparent analysis.
