The hottest new Caribbean food takeaway has arrived, and it’s set up shop in the heart of London, offering city workers bright and flavoursome on the go breakfast, lunch and dinner food choices.

At BAYGO, coined from ‘TOBAGO’ the sister isle of Trinidad, expect to find traditional Caribbean cuisine, reimagined to form quick, healthy and tasty meals. The menu features recognisably traditional island dishes, but carefully tweaked to fit the on-the-go City lifestyle and the just-in-time ordering model.

He said:

“Caribbean food has been in the UK for a very long time and has not had the breakthrough as other ethnic cuisines like Indian and Chinese. One of my dreams is for the general public to consider it as an option when deciding what takeaway meal they want to order.”

We’d say he’s well on his way to realising his dream. So, what’s on the menu? Well, no Caribbean menu would be complete without  featuring world-famous staples such as jerk chicken, but there’s so much more at BAYGO. To start the day, customers can go for one of their breakfast pots, try the jerk sausage, egg spinach and BAYGO sauce on a Bricoche roll, or a calypso porridge (cornmeal and oat porridge, topped with hibiscus jam, mixed fruit). For lunch or dinner, you can go for the Curry Goat Pot (curried goat, plantain, sunshine slaw, callaloo and rice and peas). There’s also a wide range of sides to top up your meal, cassava fries anyone? Wash it all down with island-inspired BAYGO juices or traditional tea and coffee and other beverages.
