We’re pretty big movie buffs here at Melanmag Towers and with the weather turning decidedly cooler, there’s nothing better than hibernating (for a little while at least) in a darkened cinema, chomping on popcorn!

We’ve updated our list of movies that we want to watch and because we’re not selfish, here are a few on our radar that you can look out for.

Victoria and Abdul

If you enjoy British history but are interested in the juicy parts that are overlooked then this movie is for you. The movie follows the story of Queen Victoria who forms an unlikely friendship with Abdul Karim, a servant brought from India to participate in the Queen’s jubilee.

Jumani: Welcome to the Jungle

Everyone remembers Jumanji right? The creepy movie where a boy gets trapped in a board game that makes strange noises? Well 22 years after its release, a sequel is back starring Kevin Hart, Dwayne Jonas and Jack Black. A Jumanji sequel starring Kevin Hart? We know for sure it’s not going to be as creepy.

The Mountain Between Us

Idris Elba is on a roll this year, another movie equals another opportunity to carefully analyze his acting credentials! What did you think we were going to say. Based on the novel of the same name, written by Charles Martin, the movie stars Idris and Kate Winslet as they are stranded on a mountain after a plane crash.

Marshall

Starring Chadwick Boseman, who we cannot wait to see in Marvel’s Black Panther early next year, Marshall tells the story of Thurgood Marshall. Focusing on his earlier years, we are shown just one of the many cases that the first African-American Supreme Court Justice deals with.

Bright

If you have Netflix then you’re in for a treat. Will Smith is starring in a weird sort of fantasy crime action thriller. In the streets of LA where humans and mythical creatures coexist, Will Smith battles it out to take them down.
