After working at Capital FM, for nearly five years, bubbly KISS Presenter / DJ Pandora Christie last year embraced a new role at KISS FM where she hosts the award winning mid-morning show and is the current voice of the hugely popular KISSTORY.

Also, a beauty blogger at www.pandorachristie.com, we were keen to step into Pandora’s world to find out more about her journey and her passions.

What did you want to be when you were 10?
When I was 10, I wanted to be an actress!

What’s your heritage?
I actually have little knowledge of my heritage; I was fostered from the age of nine. I am very close to one of my sisters and we have become inseparable within the last few years.

How did you arrive at your role at KISS FM?
I started out as a promo girl for Heart FM, then left to gain experience at a community radio station. I was taken in by Choice FM then was offered my own show on Capital where I stayed for four and a half years. Last year, I was given the opportunity to present the iconic KISSTORY show on KISS. I’m on air 10-1 on week day mornings.

Describe a typical day
Every day can be different. If there are any guests in the building, or premiers happening, I always get in super early for the show. I like to give myself at least two hours to prep. Usually, I have my coffee, chat to the team, and then blast out the show for three hours. I also love being sent out to work on the red carpet at premieres and conduct interviews.

Who have you been most star struck by?
My first big interview was with Usher and I was so star struck I couldn’t think straight. I’ve grown up listening to him, have five of his albums and I have also seen him perform the same show three times in a row. When I met him, he was super lovely, just as I imagined he would be.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve done on radio?
Jump into the serpentine for a prank set by the breakfast show! It was freezing cold, murky and tasted awful! I also had to do my own show after as I was on at 10am!

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start out in radio?
I’d advise getting as much experience as you can in any field you choose to pursue a career in. With radio, I’d suggest getting experience from all types of radio stations. Whether it is local, community or hospital radio, you’ll learn the skills you need.

It also helps to learn how to produce your own show and how to make your own demo. Don’t rush take your time to perfect your trade.

What drives you? Would you describe yourself as ambitious?

I’m very ambitious, however I don’t let that stop me enjoying what I have got in that moment. I always set myself goals and give myself challenges and I try to tick off every month!

Red carpet soiree, or chilling at home with a good film/good book?
Red carpet soiree! I use my weekends to relax and keep my weekdays free for events.

Three things that you wouldn’t leave the house without?
I wouldn’t leave the house without:

  • My phone! It is in my hand pretty much 99% of the time.
  • My pink lipgloss (I’m obsessed with lipsticks/glosses. I currently have over 90)
  • If I could, I’d take my dog Henry everywhere with me!

What’s your daily beauty regime?

My daily regime is very simple, I don’t use cleansers or toners. But I do use a good facial wash by Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser, it’s amazing. It gives your skin a really deep clean. I then finish my regime with Bare Minerals Butter Drench cream. It’s super thick but instantly sinks into your skin leaving it fully moisturized and nourished.

How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as vibrant, playful and a bit of a chic vibe.

What’s next for you?
Along side my presenting, I’d love to get more involved with dog charities that are close to my heart.

You can catch Pandora on KISS – weekdays from 10am to 1pm.
