The annual NoScrunchie Good Afro Salon Awards took place this year on 10 November 2016 at the Chiswell Street Dining Rooms in London. The glamorous event, hosted by journalist Sue Omar, saw more than 100 guests walk down a carpet, not red but pink, NoScrunchieβs signature colour.
Amongst the many guests in attendance were representatives from the UKβs top Afro hair salons, as well as press and top influencers. Thousands of votes were cast by regular users of NoScrunchie.com, the UKβs only Afro hair salon directory and review website.
Founded in 2013 by Leillah Sekala, the awards event is unique in that clients are able to nominate their favourite salons and stylists in 10 different categories helping to find the nationβs experts representing independent Afro hair salons that deserve recognition, while recognising the relationship between clients, stylists and salons.
